In the many behind-the-scenes photographs from the production of The Shining, director Stanley Kubrick can frequently be seen sitting in a favorite wicker chair with blue and white checkerboard cushions. That same chair appears in a single shot in The Shining: When Jack calls Wendy at the beginning of the film to update her on how his interview went, it can be seen behind her as she talks on the phone.
